Citizens of the Year Nominations Sought

The Poultney Area Chamber of Commerce is looking for nominations for its annual Citizen Of The Year award. 

The award is given each year to a Poultney area citizen who has contributed to the betterment of the Poultney community,  provided continuing outstanding service to the community, and who demonstrates the true spirit of service, qualities representing the finest ideals of citizenship in the Poultney area. 

The 2019 Citizen of the Year will be honored at a Chamber of Commerce reception in October which is open to all. He or she will also be part of the the Official Tree Tapping Ceremony at Maplefest in March, and serve as Grand Marshall in the Fourth Of July parade. 

To nominate a Poultney area resident, send a letter to the Poultney Area Chamber of Commerce including the nominee’s full name, address, and phone number. 

Include a short description of their life and service, and an explanation of why you think this person deserves the award.  Also include testimonials from other sources. 

Finally, include your own name, address, and phone number, in case the Chamber committee needs more information.

Nominations are due September 30, 2019.   They must be in writing as described above, and should be mailed to PACC Citizen of the Year, PO Box 151, Poultney, VT  05764.   Electronic communications are not acceptable.
