It’s ALWAYS the first Saturday in June;  this year it’s June 4th. Poultney’s big Town Wide Yard Sale!  Think of it:  bright sunshine, warm breezes, people visiting.  You’ll enjoy being out seeing people you may not have seen over the winter.  

But there’s a lot to do before that day.  Sign-ups start April 1st for space on Main Street, just $25.00 for a 15 foot space, and you can rent multiple spaces.  Call the Poultney Area Chamber of Commerce at 802-287-2010, email us at poultneyvtchamber@gmail.com, or download an application from the Chamber website.  Then just mail the application and your check to PACC, PO Box 151, Poultney, VT 05764.  

Want to be in a special spot?  Call the Chamber and pick it out – if it’s available.  It’s first-come, first-served on the available space, so act now!  

Then gather your merchandise together and figure out how to display it.  New or used items, antiques and collectibles, cookware and glassware, artwork and furniture, jewelry and old skillets, books and CDs, clothing and personal care; all have been part of the Poultney Town Wide Yard Sale in the past.  Whatever you have to sell, just trot it out and set it up! 

The Poultney Town Wide Yard Sale was originally conceived as a way for local residents to sell their used items and maybe make a few dollars.  But it’s grown and changed over the years, much as Poultney is changing now.  Residents are encouraged to rent space if they wish, or to hold their own yard sales at home.  The more, the merrier, and the bigger the better.  

Don’t forget the food!  The Poultney Chamber will be holding a Great Potato Bake at it’s booth – a fund-raiser for the Chamber.  We expect the Dancing Potato to be on hand to help take your order.  Food vendors will be scattered up and down Main Street.  The Methodist Church expects to hold their own yard sale, and will also provide food at breakfast and lunch.
