Rebecca Cook Named Citizen of the Year

The Poultney Area Chamber of Commerce has chosen Rebecca Cook as Poultney’s Citizen of the Year for 2022-2023.

Rebecca will be honored with a reception still to be scheduled, and the award of a custom-made slate clock.  The Citizen of the Year participates in the Official Tree Tapping Ceremony at Maplefest in March, and serves as the Grand Marshall in the Fourth of July Parade.

“We are blessed to have her” were the words used by the people who recommended Rebecca for the honor.  They referred to her hard work and dedication in turning the Poultney Library into more than just a building with books.  It’s now a center for the community with reading materials, art displays, meeting space, audio and video materials, programs for all ages, and a doorway to learning.

The Poultney Area Chamber of Commerce thanks Rebecca for her long and faithful service and for going above and beyond for Poultney and the surrounding area:  a real “unsung hero”.  We’re proud to name Rebecca Cook Citizen of the Year for 2022-2023. A recipient may receive the award one time.  A list of present and past recipients is available by calling the Poultney Area Chamber at 802-287-2010, or on the Chamber website https://poultneyareachamber.com/residents/citizen-of-the-year/
