Poultney, VT – Get ready to experience a vibrant and unforgettable 4th of July celebration in the historic town of Poultney. This year’s festivities promise something for everyone, from thrilling parades to exciting entertainment and delicious food.
The highlight of the celebration is the town parade, kicking off on Friday, July 4th, 2025, at 10 am in East Poultney, VT. Before the parade, fuel up with a delicious pancake breakfast at the Methodist Church on Main Street, starting at 7:30 am. Then take the kids up the street to Slate Quarry Park for a pre-parade magic show with Tom Joyce. This year’s parade theme, “Enjoying Outdoor Adventures,” invites participants to showcase their creativity, with cash prizes awarded in five categories: Most Photographic, Business that best depicts the Theme, Best Depicts the theme (could just be a family, not a business), Best depicts the organization and Most Patriotic. Floats are still being accepted, and applications can be found here.
Following the parade, head to the Bhakta campus for an afternoon packed with fun activities, including a bouncy house, food trucks, hot dogs and lemonade, a kids’ bouncy house, and more. The excitement continues in the afternoon at Poultney Elementary School, starting at 3 pm. Enjoy a captivating magic show with Blaine Good at 4 pm and a performance by the No Strings Marionette Company at 5 pm.
Indulge in tasty treats from food trucks, and engage in various activities for kids. The festivities culminate in an all-ages dance party with DJ Saltis at 7 pm, followed by a breathtaking fireworks display at 9 pm.
