Local entrepreneur opens licensed cannabis dispensary on Main Street in Poultney.
New business owner, Christian Poczobut, grew up in the area and graduated from Whitehall High School in 2015. Soon after graduation he started a property management business where he bought, renovated and sold properties for a profit. Christian also opened a dispensary, however, it didn’t work out with his partners so he sold his shares. When the retail store on Main Street in Poultney became available he decided to check it out and start his new endeavor. After extended negotiations, he bought the property and became excited about the possibilities for redesigning his new property. Soon Christian and his staff started working on transforming the old Auto Parts Store into a beautiful new retail space while keeping the historic integrity of the building intact. They have even found some old artifacts and historical materials to showcase as part of the store’s charm.
The new store is a state licensed cannabis retailer with local ties. The management holds a commitment to compliance and safety through following local and state regulations. The store’s license entails detailed protocols for compliance in security and regulation of sales including age 21 policies. Every product is tested to comply with Vermont State regulations. These regulations are extremely strict and meant to safe guard the safety of customers.
The business has a variety of products for sale and a very knowledgeable staff eager to serve specific customer needs and answer questions. Most of their customers are between the ages of 40-60. Many people consume cannabis products for pain relief and aid in coping with the effects of chemotherapy and chronic disease.
The Poultney Cannabis Supply focuses on education, transparency and community partnership as a responsible addition to the town’s community landscape. Christian is happy how things worked out and is excited to be a part of the Poultney community. He looks forward to working close to home and being the face behind of the building and store. He has enjoyed meeting community members and listening to stories about the history of the building and town.
