David Pate is the first call sax player in the Tampa/ Clearwater/ St. Pete area in Florida. He received his music degrees from the University of South Florida and has had an extensive, professional career playing all styles of music as well as being a music educator. The list of musicians that David has been influenced by, makes it difficult to describe his interesting and exciting approach to jazz. He utilizes extended saxophone techniques such as multiphonics, controlled overtones and circular breathing and maybe a couple of blues licks. David has produced several CD’s and was a member of The Sam Rivers Jazz Orchestra.
