Citizens of the Year Reception

The citizen of the year has been awarded to Krista Rupe. She has done many things over the years, co-president of the Poultney Historical Society, helps plan the East Poultney Day, Vice President of the Stone Valley Arts Center, President of the Horace Greeley Foundation, where she secures book authors for the annual Writer’s Symposium. Member of the Poultney Rotary Club, serves on the Public Image Committee doing the marketing of the region. Aids in the planning of the Poultney Chili Cook-off.  Proudly aided in the planning of and completion of the Slate Quarry Park. Some of you will remember her voice as a DJ on the Lakes Region Radio. She was also Executive director of the Slate Valley Museum in Granville, NY  where she currently is a research consultant for the museum.  She is also skilled in grant writing and marketing.  Her experience and education has piqued interest in Intergenerational Learning as well as keeping local history alive by her planning of events.

There will be a reception on Saturday, November 18 at the Stone Valley Arts Center on East Main Street.  Further details will follow as they are secured.
