A brief seven-minute drive from downtown Poultney is all it takes to reach Lake St. Catherine State Park. Located in southern Poultney, the picturesque lake is a great place to cool off in the warm summer months.

Lake St Catherine is the location of the annual Frosty Derby ice fishing contest held every February. Ice fishing is a popular pastime for residents and visitors from December to “ice out” in the spring.

The park is open Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day Weekend.

Facilities

Spanning 117-acres the park is home to 50 tent/RV site and 11 lean-to sites for people looking to camp in the area. For your comfort restrooms with toilets, coin-operated hot showers, and a dump station, and lake access are all provided.

The park has plenty to offer day guests whether you want to take a dip in the lake or learn more about the natural and cultural history of the park at the Nature Center, there’s something for everyone.

At the south end of the lake, there is a boat ramp allowing access for power and sailboats, or you can rent one of the smaller boats from the concession stand.
